SST Becomes a National Champion

22 December 2016

SST Group won the qualifying tournament to become a priority project “State Support of Leading Private High-Tech Companies” (as a part of the National Champions project) arranged by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation

The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation appreciated the contribution of the Special Systems and Technologies Group of Companies (SST Group) to the development of the Russian industry, as well as its technological and structural commitment to global expansion. As the largest heating cable manufacturer in Russia and Europe, SST Group is planning to strengthen its position in the global market for industrial heat tracing systems with the project "State Support to the Leading Private High-Tech Companies" (the "National Champions" project) arranged by the Ministry of Economic Development.

The project of the Ministry of Economic Development will ensure faster growth of the Russian private high-tech export-oriented companies, growth leaders, and will promote the establishment of Russian-based multinational companies on their basis. The project is planned to get extended until the end of 2020.

SST Group showed the full compliance with the National Champions Project’s standards and requirements. SST Group has formed a national center of competence in the development and production of heating cables and electric heating systems. The company is leading the Russian market of electrical heating systems, and exports its products to 47 countries worldwide. In 2015, SST Group launched production of conductive plastics and self-regulating heating cables to become the first and only manufacturer of self-regulating heating cables in Russia, which enhanced the company's position in the global market. In the near future SST Group is expected to complete the formation of the offices in EMEA and China to deliver a full range of services including maintenance of industrial electric heating systems to foreign customers.

"Launching the National Champions Project shows the State's intention to support Russian technology companies with high export potential. We have reached a leading position in Russia and are going to hold it. Further development of the company is attributed to the expansion of the global market. With its technological, industrial and intellectual potentials SST Group is in the right position to do so. I am convinced that opportunities provided by the National Champions Project and the Ministry of Economic Development’s support will create conditions necessary to boost exports of national high-tech products"- Michael Strupinsky, CEO of SST Group, said.
