Precipitation sensors

Purpose

Precipitation sensors are designed to detect precipitation on the heated surface. They are used for a joint work with the digital temperature controllers PT-200, PT-220, PTM-2000 in roof and open area heating systems.

Operating principle

In case of snow ingress on the precipitation sensor, the heating element melts it turning to water. In case of water ingress on precipitation control contacts, they are closed and the temperature controller detects precipitations.

The TSP01 precipitation sensor without upper casing (snow take-up) is used for installation into the screed when operating as part of open area de-icing systems.

The TSP02 precipitation sensor includes the ambient air temperature sensor which ensures the optimal power level of heating element to prevent an ice covering formation. Also, the TSP02 precipitation sensor includes brackets for the fixing to vertical surface.
